CREW

  Windweaver of Pennington

Sailing from the age of four, Alistair began his professional yachting career in 1986 as a Flotilla Skipper and Shore Engineer for Yugotours Maritime in Croatia.  Within a few years he had earned his RYA Yachtmaster License with Commercial Endorsement and certificates in Basic Sea Survival, First Aid at Sea and Ship’s Captain’s Medical Training.  His first full-time captain’s position came in 1991 when he took over the 60’ Ocean Keveral, chartering in the Caribbean and making three Atlantic crossings over the next two years.  Since 1993 Captain Vickery has skippered charter and private yachts from 60 to 75 feet in length, sailing over 100,000 miles from the Canaries to Vancouver (Canada), the Solent and the west coast of Scotland, the Mediterranean, Germany and Sweden.

Alistair will celebrate his fourth anniversary as WINDWEAVER’S captain this August (2007).  Spending time with his land-based wife and two young children is his great joy.  Long time brokers will remember Alistair and Anabel as the very busy and successful charter team on Ocean Keveral and Ain’t Misbehavin’.  When time allows, Alistair enjoys dinghy sailing, snow skiing and restoring classic British cars and motorcycles.

Simon Moss, Deckhand / Steward, 27, British

Simon has recently joined the crew fresh from running a charter fleet in Croatia, the latest of many assignments with Sunsail which have included teaching RYA sailing and cruising courses as well as being a Flotilla Skipper. Simon’s friendly disposition and passion for sailing make him a welcome member to the Windweaver crew.

Captain Vickery and his team are the perfect hosts and will take care of your every need.
