Owner / operators & co-captains Earl & Bonnie Mackenzie of the Schooner BONNIE LYNN are keen for a June ‘Newport to Maine’ charter prior to her first confirmed booking which boards in Rockland, Maine on July 3rd. 

If you’re looking for an authentic ‘Down East Maine’ experience, go sailing on the Schooner BONNIE LYNN.  She was built in Maine to the high standards required for offshore cruising and is US Coast Guard Certified to carry passengers on ocean passages as well as 36 passengers for day sails. 

When they designed BONNIE LYNN, Earl and Bonnie Mackenzie incorporated features and details refined over thirteen years of operating another Maine charter schooner.    BONNIE LYNN provides flexible accommodations for six in three cabins with double and single berths.  There are two full guest baths. For privacy, the en suite crew quarters are aft of the salon.

Earl is a born and bred "Mainer" who grew up on his father‘s lobster boat in Friendship, Maine.  He has skippered yachts and work boats since his teens, served 20 years in the Coast Guard Reserves and was co-owner of a boatyard in Maine.  Bonnie grew up in Michigan, joined the Peace Corps right out of college, traveled extensively and began sailing more than 20 years ago.  She is a caring hostess and a very accomplished cook – just wait ‘til you taste her seafood, lobster & chowder! 

Both Earl and Bonnie have a strong interest in marine biology & maritime history, as evidenced by the ship’s extensive library.  Many guests come back time and again and families especially love the warm, relaxed atmosphere onboard Schooner Bonnie Lynn.
