Aurora

AURORA, 67' C&N sloop, three guests who sailed 14 to 24 January, St. Martin-St. Martin, really enjoyed themselves and were very pleased with Aurora and her crew, David and Bridget Mackwood.

"We enjoyed our vacation.  The boat is a nice sailing ship, large enough for three, and is well maintained.  David is a competent and very prudent captain.  Bridget is a good cook and a charming person."  We kept them very busy . . "as we had almost all the meals onboard according to our wishes."

Two master cabins offer luxury accommodations.  Aft is a full width cabin with an athwartships queen bed, cedar-lined lockers, color TV/CD/DVD, Bose sound system, custom upholstery and carpeting.  The enlarged master bath is fitted with white Italian marble and contemporary designer fixtures.

Completely remodeled and enlarged, the forward suite is very well laid out with a generous double bed plus single upper, flat panel TV and DVD, and wrap-around teak desk.  New oversized bathroom features a tiled stall shower.  Crew quarters and head are separate.

If fine wines and gourmet food are at the top of your vacation priorities, David and Bridget are just the right crew.  David served as management staff of such notable hotels as London's Savoy  Hotel, the legendary Claridge's and the Hotel Lancaster in Paris.  He has also been a sommelier and owned a retail and wholesale wine business, as well as a very successful French restaurant listed in the Michelin Guide.  Bridget is a Cordon Bleu trained chef who incorporates world cuisines into her creative menus. She has studied cooking in France, Spain and at the New England Culinary Institute.
