MIRA, 70’ Sweden Yachts sloop, is ready for summer!  See her at the Marmaris Show, May 12 –16.

SUMMER 2006 RATES:  Euros 16,000/2   17,000/4   18,000/6 plus all

MIRA is looking great after her very thorough winter refit in Athens and is scheduled to depart for Turkey on April 4th.  The beautiful Club Marina in Gocek, located in the center of a stunning sailing area, is Mira’s new summer base - just 30 minutes from the Dalmatian airport.  Captain Richard Bates was in Gocek recently, setting up MIRA’s shoreside services.  He had dinner with Gem Boz, organizer of the Marmaris Charter Show and commodore of the Marmaris Yacht Club, who predicts MIRA will be busy this summer.

Accommodations for six in three en suite cabins:  The en suite king master, with sofa and vanity, has its own private entrance to the cockpit. Two forward en suite cabins comprise a double to starboard and upper/lower singles in the port cabin.

Recent upgrades and improvements on MIRA include:
New Panasonic LCD TV’s and expanded DVD/Music library
New high quality mattresses in all cabins
Color computer screen and mouse in aft cockpit
New 12 foot Caribe RIB tender with 30hp Yamaha – plus toys
New 8 foot quicksilver inflatable with 5hp Yamaha
New Lewmar hydraulic windlass
New super quiet exhausts for main engine and generator
Main engine and propeller upgrades for increased performance under power

Captain Bates reports that Mira’s new English chef, Argan Bailey, is working out terrifically well and is great with guests.  Argan grew up in a sailing family, is the son of a well-known chef and has worked in the yachting industry for four years.

He has a solid background in catering exclusive weddings and coordinating music festivals.  Argan has an RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Offshore license and RYA certificates in Small Craft Basic Sea Survival, Radar and First Aid.

To All:

After four and a half years, Jamie, Chris and myself have left ole’ ARIA.   We’ve had such great times and great guests, thanks to all of you.    It’s due to your expertise in putting on the right clients on the right boat!  We’ve made some great friends with the guests over the years and hope we can do it again on another vessel.

For the moment, Jamie and I are taking the summer off and spending it with his two kids, Robbie (15) and Amanda (19).   The kids are growing up fast and it is Amanda’s last year of high school and soon her life will take another course.   So we felt it was important to spend some quality time with them over the summer.

Jamie also has a piece of property in Boothbay, Maine, at which time, we are starting to develop.   We are excited about the project and look forward to having a home on it someday!

We really have enjoyed working with all of you, and especially the boat shows where there is a time to put the names with faces and reminisce with those of you I’ve known for years.   Thanks again.

Kindest Regards,

Virginia and Jamie
